George Fetting was a finalist in the Bowness Art Prize hosted by the Monash Art Gallery Melbourne, last weekend, one of the most sought-after photographic prizes in Australia.
George Fetting’s Portrait titled ZUFI - Diptych was a finalist in both the Bowness Art Prize 2019 (colour) as well as Australian Life 2019 (black + white). The striking portrait features 22-year-old, Inner West resident Zufi Emerson. Emerson, who was born in Ethiopia, was adopted as a baby by an Australian couple. Grateful for the opportunity to grow up in Australia, Emerson became a Youth Ambassador for Adopt Change and Ambassador for Future Women (CH9). After graduating from her studies at the Actors Centre in 2018, Emerson balances work as an actor with her commitment as an Adopt for Change Ambassador, working alongside other Adopt Change Ambassadors such as Hugh Jackman and Deborah Lee Furness.
